Αυτή την Κυριακή θα μας μιλήσει ο Till για το εξής: I'm going to talk about musical applications of feedback. First I'll talk a bit about the general concept of feedback and then more specifically about how to utilize positive feedback for electronic instrument design and patch programming. I'll explain the structure of the Blippoo Box, a quite original instrument designed and built by the dutch synthesizer builder Rob Hordijk, that I have studied extensively. It's something like a "patch in a box" that works via different methods of self-modulation. I chose the Blippoo Box because it uses several different kinds of feedback self-modulation in different ways to achieve potentially chaotic behaviour, while at the same time being a very playable performance instrument - a highly interesting case study with lots to learn from.
